Keto rules
RULE 1. MEASURE YOUR KETONES
DAILY
To ensure that you aren't eating too many carbohydrates it's important
you measure your urine for Ketones (which indicates whether you are
burning fat or not) twice daily using Ketostix. For optimum fat burning
your Ketone levels should be between 'etrace' and 'esmall' (0.5 -
1.5 mmol/l).
RULE 2. UNDERTAKE MODERATE
EXERCISE
When following the KetoSystem you must participate in a low intensity,
moderate exercise program such as vigorous walking, aerobics, slow
swimming, jogging, or cycling. High intensity exercise is not recommended
because your muscle energy stores are lower. Depending on your exercise
habits, the amount of protein eaten daily should be increased so that
muscle is maintained and fat loss is increased.
- Light Exercise
If you do no more than 15 minutes of exercise daily; or 1¾
hours weekly multiply your protein intake by 1.1.
- Moderate Exercise (Recommended)
If you do between 15 to 30 minutes of exercise daily; or between
1¾ and 3½ hours weekly multiply your protein intake
by 1.2.
- Heavy Exercise (Not Recommended)
If you do more than 30 minutes of exercise daily; or more than
3½ hours weekly which includes weight training multiply your protein
intake by 1.3.
For example: Jenny is undertaking a moderate exercise program.
Therefore during week 2 onwards of the KetoSystem she would have to
increase her daily protein intake to 6½ palms (5½ palms
multiplied by 1.2 = 6.6 or 6½ palms rounded) of protein. This
would mean that she should eat an additional 2 Ketoslim shakes or
1 Keto Bar a day.
Note: Any exercise program should include some resistance training
to maintain or build muscle mass.
RULE 3. DON'T RELY ON SCALES
OR WORRY ABOUT MEASURING YOUR WEIGHT
Many diets designed to reduce a person's weight do so by depleting
the body's fluid levels and muscle mass. This causes an inevitable
rebound effect in weight gain, can damage the immune system and in
some cases cause irreparable harm to a person's health.
Body composition or the fat to muscle ratio is the important factor.
Your practitioner may not want you to lose weight but rather lose
fat and maintain muscle mass. Keep measurements around your buttocks
and waist to determine how much fat you are losing or for a more accurate
result, ask your healthcare professional about Cellular Health Analysis
to monitor your fat loss and protect important muscle mass and fluid
levels.
RULE 4. ENSURE THAT ADEQUATE
THERAPEUTIC OILS ARE CONSUMED
Keto Oil is the ideal oil supplement to induce thermogenisis and Ketone
production. Take 1 serve (5 ml or approx. 1 teaspoon) twice daily
with meals or as an ingredient in salad dressing.
RULE 5. CHECK WITH YOUR
HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL ON YOUR PROGRESS
The KetoSystem is not designed to be followed indefinitely. You should
check with your healthcare professional on a regular basis to help
monitor your progress and adjust your meal plan accordingly.
Once you've lost your excess body fat, keep it off, by switching
to either the Insulin Zone System or A/B/O Blood Type diet. Either
of these two diets will help you to maintain your optimum healthy
weight and stop the inevitable rebound effect experienced with many
"weight loss" programs. Talk to your practitioner for more information
on the Insulin Zone System and A/B/O Blood Type diet.
RULE 6. DRINK 8-10 GLASSES
OF WATER DAILY
High water intake is necessary to flush excess Ketones through the
kidneys and prevent the negative effects of their accumulation. Fruit
juices, cordials, alcohol, soft drinks and drinks containing carbohydrates
or caffeine must be avoided.
RULE 7. SUGARS MUST BE
AVOIDED AS THEY REDUCE FAT LOSS
This includes honey, molasses, raw sugar, soft drinks and juice
concentrates.
RULE 8. MAINTAIN A HEALTHY
ATTITUDE AND KEEP MOTIVATED
While it's important that you follow the KetoSystem Meal Plan closely,
don't despair if you eat a non "Keto Friendly" meal or snack. Just
return to your menu plan, check your Ketones with ketostix and keep
trying to stay in ketosis (fat burning). With patience and persistance
you will be amazed at the results you can achieve with the KetoSystem
